Application

Mix Himtrust Primer-RK (1K) in a low-speed (no more than 200 rpm) mixer (drill with mixing nozzle) for 5 minutes.

Additional dilution of the primer or filler addition to regulate the viscosity is not allowed.

The primer should be applied in a uniform thin layer without gaps using a nylon or fur roller with a short pile. It is allowed to use airless spray equipment.

Color of the primer is red to visually show the primed and UN-primed areas. After primer application wait for 60 minutes. Evaluate the quality of the surface priming by performing a visual inspection. Areas where the primer is completely absorbed should be re-primed.

A well-primed base should have a uniform, slightly glossy surface.

Application requirements

The temperature of the primer, the base surface and the surrounding air in the work area: from +5 °C to +25 °C. Relative humidity: no more than 80 %.

The surface temperature of the base must be at least 3 °C above the dew point defined for these conditions and increase both during the application of the primer and during the entire time required for complete polymerization of the primer layer.

Example: at an air temperature of +15 °C with a relative humidity of 75 %, dew is formed at a surface temperature of +10.2 °C. If the surface temperature is below 10.2 °C + 3 = 13.2 °C, the primer application must be stopped.

Significant changes in air temperature, drafts, excessive humidity of the base and air negatively affect the polymerization mode and worsen the properties of the primer layer, which creates defects.

Health effects and precautions

Observe safety regulations in accordance with SNiP III-4-80. Use personal protective equipment: a gas mask or protective mask, special clothing that covers all areas of the body, gloves, and shoes.

Storage recommendations

Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture at 20 °C and without opening the container.
